One in five adults in the United States (50 million people) has arthritis, and an estimated 67 million people could be affected by the year 2030. Already the nation’s leading cause of disability, the heavy burdens of arthritis – the pain, disability, scope and cost – are contributing to an epidemic.

Osteoarthritis (OA), the most common type of arthritis, currently affects 27 million people in the United States. But there are simple steps everyone can take to prevent OA progression.

This new PSA campaign communicates that in the fight against arthritis, you need a weapon, and asks the viewer, “What’s yours?”  The PSAs encourage everyone to find a weapon, whether it’s jogging, boxing, swimming, tennis, Tai Chi or another activity; everyone can find a weapon to defend against arthritis.

The PSAs and campaign assets direct viewers to www.FightArthritisPain.org, where they can learn their risk for OA, as well as simple steps to reduce pain, increase mobility and slow arthritis progression.
