How Your Support Helps

Contributions to the Ad Council help create the very infrastructure that fulfills and expands our mission and campaigns each year.  Your support enables us to reach every neighborhood and every demographic across the nation. 

Last year, contributions helped us leverage nearly $2 billion in donated media.  When people hear our messages, we know that they are moved to respond:  We donate more blood.  We help each other “take a bite out of crime” in our neighborhoods.  We focus on small steps to fight a national obesity epidemic.  We know how to control diabetes, where to register to vote, how to prepare for an emergency, and when to stop our friends from driving buzzed. In the 2007 fiscal year, we raised more than $7.5 million (50% of our budget) in contributions from more than 350 corporations and foundations and our board of directors, and through their support of our 2007 Annual Public Service Award Dinner. Your generosity is critical to our enduring success and ability to create social change around the issues that affect us most.

The Advertising Council is a private, non-profit organization, tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts to the Ad Council are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Look for us in your workplace giving program, and designate a gift to the Ad Council. If your employer does not have a workplace campaign, talk to your personnel director about beginning one.
