Ad Council: Smokey Bear or McGruff?
Sarah Frazier: Smokey Bear obviously.

AC: What’s on your desktop home screen?
SF: A picture of my daughter frolicking in the Galveston Gulf.

AC: Android or iPhone?
SF: iPhone

AC: Favorite social platform?
SF: Snapchat

AC: Favorite social good ad campaign?
SF: Adoption from FOster Care. There are so many kids that need help and good homes.  Nothing is more important than making sure these kids don’t fall through the cracks.

AC: In a nutshell, what’s your job/what do you do?
SF:1. Keep programming focused on the mission of providing great local content, entertainment and charity work for the Houston community
2. Keep sales focused on selling ideas that deliver results to our clients
3. Provide a culture of empowerment and accountability toward our common and individual goals

AC: How do you think advertising can be a force for good?
SF: Are you kidding?  Advertising is great!  For every $1 spent in advertising it generates $19 in GDP in Texas.  It helps grow businesses.  Growing businesses grows jobs.  Growing jobs increase our local economies.  Advertising is good for everyone.

AC: What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever been given?
SF: If you work hard, you can achieve anything.

AC: Who’s been your greatest influence?
SF: My Dad. He was a salesman and cold-called every Sunday night from his home office.  For years, I saw how hard he worked and I saw how that hard work paid off. I watched him interact with clients and I memorized his pitch.  I fell in love with the art of selling.

AC: What have you gotten out of working with the Ad Council?
SF: President George H.W. Bush said, “Any definition of a successful life must include serving others.”  If the only thing we used our massive reach was to drive profit, we would be missing out on true success.  We have the ability to impact our communities in a positive manner.  Ad Council provides a link between all of us in the media to use our voice together to create maximum impact.  Local media is an amazing thing, and when we work together we are much more than the sum of our parts.
