DJ Perera
Chief Media Officer
DJ Perera oversees the Ad Council’s Media team focused on media strategy, engagement, partnerships, activations, and operations across all media channels in both mainstream and emerging media. She is focused on evolving the Ad Council’s media model and developing strategic partnerships across the media ecosystem, strategically using donated media—augmented with intentionally secured paid media—to distribute the organization’s messages at scale for impact on social issues.
Prior to joining the Ad Council, DJ held media and marketing positions at various corporations and agencies across consumer-packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, animal health, telecom and technology industries. DJ is a digital native who started her career in the late 1990s during the dot-com boom, and has held leadership roles at major corporations including Boehringer Ingelheim, Beiersdorf and Merial.
DJ is active on many industry committees and boards including being the co-Chairperson of the Association of National Advertisers’ Media Committee.
DJ graduated from the New York University with a BA in English Literature, and is also proud to be an alumnus of Stuyvesant High School in NYC.
