Kate Emanuel leads the Ad Council’s strategic partnerships with nonprofits, foundations, federal agencies, the U.S. Congress, and the White House. She has 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors, with deep experience in strategic planning, policy analysis, and communications.
To ensure the Ad Council brings attention to the most crucial issues, Kate also vets potential causes the organization takes on and manages the Ad Council’s Advisory Committee on Public Issues, an esteemed group of the nation’s top thought-leaders from foundations, academia, nonprofits and corporate philanthropy.
Kate joined the Ad Council in 2003 after eight years serving the American public as chief of staff for U.S. Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard. She was previously a housing services coordinator at an affordable housing developer.
She earned a joint master’s degree in Public Health and Urban Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
Kate lives in Washington, DC with her photojournalist husband, Ken, live in Washington, DC with and their rescue dog, Toby.
