COVID-19 Case Study
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Five days later, the Ad Council, along with an unprecedented network of cross-sector partners, was in market with critical messaging about staying safe and slowing the spread of the coronavirus. In the weeks and months that followed, our work addressed mask wearing, racial justice, mental health, gun safety and other issues exacerbated by the unprecedented crisis. OUR CAMPAIGN

The Coronavirus Response campaign includes a variety of research-based, targeted efforts focusing on mask use, social distancing, mental health, and more. These PSAs are intended to reach individual communities with messaging that resonates and addresses each audience’s unique motivators and barriers to action. Specific audiences include all Americans, conservatives, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans and Gen Z.
