Advisory Committee

Established in 1947, the Advisory Committee on Public Issues plays an instrumental role in shaping the direction of the Ad Council’s docket by identifying and evaluating significant public issues and sponsors as potential new campaigns. The Committee also reviews Ad Council campaigns to ensure that the issues they address are a national priority. The Advisory Committee meets biannually, and is comprised of leaders from research, nonprofit, business, academia, and philanthropy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide input on potential campaigns and/or issues
  • Assist Ad Council to identify emerging or shifting societal themes
  • Identify gaps in Ad Council’s docket
  • Help Ad Council secure new campaign sponsors
  • Serve as external “ambassadors” for the Ad Council and help bring high caliber expertise to the Ad Council’s work
