Facebook produced "John Smith" video to highlight diversity for "Love Has No Labels" campaign (2016)


The Ad Council and Facebook teamed up to produce a new "Love Has No Labels" PSA that showed that even people with the same name, such as John Smith— one of the most common names in America—can be labeled by their race, religion, gender, ability, sexuality or age. In "Meet John Smith," John Smiths of all different backgrounds meet each other for the first time and share their personal stories of times they’ve been discriminated against. Facebook’s Creative Shop produced the film and it was promoted on Facebook through a new vertical ad format from December 2016 through mid January 2017.
