Mental Health Toolkit

Cultivating Mental Wellness Across Communities

The Ad Council has partnered with grassroots organizations, non-profits, mental health experts, and faith leaders from the Black and Latino communities to develop community-specific toolkits. With content in English and Spanish, they’re crafted to support your work on mental health.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH

Our research shows that people across the U.S. struggle with mental health as they combat income equality, racism, violence, and other stressors. Community leaders, grassroots groups, and well-established mental health nonprofits are on the ground, helping communities facilitate more nuanced and accepting conversations about emotional health. But they're always seeking out new educational tools and tips tailored to the communities they serve.

Our toolkits for the Black, Latino, and Faith communities are designed to support that work, whether you're just starting or expanding existing efforts. From social media graphics and events to messaging guides and videos, this shareable content in English and Spanish can help engage communities and foster more open discussions about emotional well-being and self-care.

Guidance Tailored to Your Community

Our audience-specific toolkits are vetted by thought leaders and wellness experts in each community. We aim to provide tailored support to engage with the communities you serve in meaningful ways and enhance outreach or programs you've already undertaken.

Looking for educational tools to discuss mental health with any audience? Search content and messaging guidelines that resonate with any community.

Black Community

We understand that the Black community has specific mental health needs, given the systemic racial injustices they face. Our toolkit provides audience-specific guidance designed to facilitate open, constructive conversations about mental health, fostering resilience and emotional wellness. It seeks to support your ongoing efforts to enhance the mental well-being of your community.

Latino Community

The Latino community faces unique challenges that impact emotional well-being, like discrimination and navigating the complexities of immigration. Our toolkit offers culturally-relevant guidance, in Spanish and English, with considerations for those sensitivities. We want to support your work in starting conversations, breaking down misconceptions and guilt surrounding mental health issues and help encourage self-care in the community you serve.

Faith Community

Faith plays a crucial role in the mental and emotional wellness of many communities. Our toolkit, crafted for faith leaders, complements your existing outreach and spiritual teachings, and equips you with tools to enhance support for your congregations. Explore our Faith Leader eLearning Hub for enriching personal stories and in-depth education from faith leaders and mental health experts.

Learn and Listen: Live

Our educational events offer opportunities to learn and connect on mental health topics impacting a wide range of communities. Discover upcoming events for your community or explore content from past events.
